What’s this I see? They don’t look like little Spock feet.

It can’t possibly be another mountaineering cat, can it?

Yes, indeed! Zé has finally worked out the window trick! He’s not quick but he gets there eventually. After many weeks of observing Spock he finally felt brave enough to get up there himself.

So, I now present to you the newest conqueror of Mt. Internal Window…It’s Zé ‘Hillary’ Yoda. Congratulations Blondie!

Here he is enjoying the view from the summit.

Not to be outdone, Spock is now looking for even higher mountains to conquer. He has already successfully completed several expeditions to the top of the shower enclosure.

But that still isn’t enough. He sense of achievement has been tarnished by Zé’s recently awakened abilities; he decides to head for the top, the highest point in the house, the ‘Everest’ of the apartment.

And so behold!

Ta-dah! I can leap small bathrooms in a single bound...For I am Super Spock!

It looks like these guys are competing to be king of the house! Cats like going to the tallest places because it makes them feel superior. Which they are.

True! It’s not a very fair contest though. Zé is never first to attempt anything. He’s very much the observer in this household.

I see Spock joins Bugs in favoring the au naturel approach. I will relay (belay) this exciting news back to Bugs. I know he will want to check out Spock’s tootsie-technique for himself.

But all in good time. Right now Bugs is recuperating from his latest training run up Denali. In record time, need I add.

Just so you know, though, the au naturel slant has cost us some endorsement income. Just as Bugs feared. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there in the climbing world. Very competitive.

Yes, I asked him if he needed any specialist equipment but he claims that his inbuilt crampons are superior to anything I could provide him with. Shame, I could see Bugs and Spock doing T.V. adverts for some hip, outdoorsy-apparel supplier.

A double-act. That’s really something to conjure with, wouldn’t you say? Spock & Bugs? Morecambe & Wise. Laurel & Hardy.

Well, unfortunately we have integrity, though, don’t we. Which tends to narrow our commercial options because we’d be lying about the hip outdoorsy money-making thing. So let’s put our heads together and see what else we can come up with, that’d be more in line with our family values. We Americans are very big on family values over here. In case you hadn’t noticed.

      Cheerie bye sistah.

But hey! What’s with the date? I’m worrying over here! Are the holidays really coming up that close?? PANIC!

    • 10/03/2011 7:49 pm

It took me a while to work this out. You had me confused. I was thinking, yes, the year is going pretty fast…then I realised what you must mean. I use the british date system (day/month/year). Don’t panic – it’s not September yet! 😀

HOOTS. I am getting that there is so much potential for confusion in life, it’s only to laugh. I’m confused, I get you confused, and round and round we go. I rely on you to straighten me out. Good luck with that! Now. What was I saying about the holidays?
